Safety and Sea Survival Courses

Two courses to be held at QCYC

The Australian Sailing Safety and Sea Survival course is an essential learning forum for anyone who takes to sea, whether by sail or motor vessel, or for professional or recreational reasons.  The intensive two day course aims to deliver up-to-date information and current techniques in an interactive environment.  Included in the course are practical exercises where candidates will become familiar with the deployment and use of liferafts, and the use of inflatable lifejackets in a pool; plus a flare deployment practice.

The qualification is mandatory for a percentage of all crew members intending to enter the Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race. In the lead up to the race the club will be hosting two courses, one in February and one in March.

Each course will be spread over four sessions, two evenings and one weekend day. Course cost is $600 per person. (Revalidation option available)

First Aid Course

A course that is actually practical to boating

It is easy to find a first aid course to attend but much harder to find one that is actually relevant to the environment you are likely to be using the skills in. This Senior First Aid course satisfies the Brisbane to Gladstone Yacht Race requirements and is essential knowledge for all boaters.

Saturday, 17th March - One day course at the Clubhouse

CPR revalidation also available. Training is provided by Mainstay Sailing.
